Blockchain is an open, distributed ledger that stores data of any kind. It can record information about transactions and owndership efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way, protecting it from deletion, tampering, and revision. It will be a foundation protocol of Web 3.0.
Blockchain benefits artists in various ways. Once works are made available on it, it could stay that way as long as the tens of thousands of computers that power it keeps running. If released (refered to as minted) as NFTs (non-fungible tokens), works are turned into unique and rare digital assets that can be traded, sometimes even worths millions of dollars like a one-of-a-kind piece of famous artwork. Information related to works such as copyright and royalty distribution is also transparent and easier to manage, giving artists credits and their fair share of revenue without having to be distracted from doing what an artist does.
While the adoption of blockchain in the mainsrteam society will be gradual, we’ve always been closely following the development of this new technology and how it can benefit artists, and we are proud to be the team behind our artists to make the magics happen.
